The Afro-American big band musical heritage of swing is explored and interpreted as the essential foundation of all modern music.
As a bassist I cannot praise enough the great rhythm arrangements of Carlo Carrà, Massimo Lafronza and Alberto Parone.ï¾ Especially Mr. Parone, who plays with great power and delicacy, which I believe (along with many great arrangers) is the most important element of a big band, along with the first trumpet.
The Big Band environment was my first involvement with jazz, and today I continue this musical approach with great pleasure. Cluzon Big Band is an orchestra that has courage to play on the road, in the mainstream path, which I firmly believe can best develop professional and artistic potential,ï¾ train new musicians, and bond both musicians and the listening public to the music. This work requires not only dedication, but a certain amount of audacity; especially today, with the current artistic and commercial landscape, where bombast prevails over experimentation, with seldom the most brilliant results.
